Frozen Shoulder : Mnemonics

Synonym: Adhesive capsulitis of shoulder

Features:

Mnemonic: ICE CAPS

  1. Inability to raise arm – due to pain
  2. Constant pain – especially at night
  3. External rotation limitation
  4. Capsular stiffness
  5. Arm movement restriction
  6. Progressive loss of motion
  7. Shoulder pain – often 1st symptom
frozen shoulder

Sequence for Manipulation under anesthesia (MUA):

Mnemonic: FEAR

  1. Flexion
  2. Extension
  3. Abduction followed by Adduction (B before D)
  4. Rotation (Internal and External)
