Hippocratic Oath for Health Bloggers

I swear by Apollo, the Physician and Hermes, the Divine Messenger, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill, according to my ability and judgement this oath and this covenant:

1. Reliability: I will share accurate information with references whenever possible, for the benefit of the scholars and the sick and not to substitute for a professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Confidentiality: I will never share identifiable information about patients. When necessary, I will ensure that the pieces of information doesn’t breach the confidentiality of the patient.

3. Respect: I will treat all individuals fairly and with respect in all situations and all forms of interaction and communication.

4. Commercial: I will not use persuasion to gain benefits from commercial recommendations. I will be open about any conflict of interest and declare any financial or commercial interests.

5. Anonimity: I will declare my correct credentials to represent the views of the profession and allow the readers to assess my expertise.

If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.
