Epomedicine is a website (service) by physicians for medical students, physicians and other health professionals. We want you to understand how we use your data and which options you have to protect it.


What personal data we collect and why we collect it?

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When visitors contact us through contact froms, we collect the data shown in the contact form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Newsletter

We will send periodic email newsletters to the email address you have provided. Where the registration for the newsletter included a concrete description of the newsletter content this description is authoritative for your consent. Newsletters include weekly post feeds. For the reception of our newsletters the provision of a valid email address is sufficient.

For the newsletter registration we use the so-called double opt-in procedure, i.e. you need to confirm the provided email address before being added to our email list and receiving newsletters. In order to confirm the newsletter registration we will send you an email with a confirmation link, which you need to click in order to confirm your newsletter registration.

With a registration for the newsletter we store your IP address and the date of your registration. The storage of this information shall serve as the proof of your newsletter registration.

You may withdraw your registration for the newsletter at any time with effect for the future via a link in the newsletter itself, in your user-account or via e-mail to the address given above.
