- Small cell lung tumors
- Infection
- Abscess
- Drugs (carbamazepine and antipsychotics)
- Head injury
Diagnosis and Diagnostic Criteria
Mnemonic: SOD-IUN TEA
- Serum Osmolarity Decreased (<280 mOsm/kg H2O)
- Increased Urine Na (>40 mmol/L) and osmolarity (>100 mOsm/kg H2O)
- Thyroid function – Normal TSH
- Euvolemia
- Adrenal function – Normal cortisol
